It's pronounced, “zee bourbon.”
Like “the bourbon”…but, better. Say it slowly and with an accent (we prefer Dutch or German). Pretty soon, “zee” will take over everything, like “I'm going to zee grocery store.” I'm not weird – you're weird.
Why create zbourbon.com?
It all started on a Halloween night. The kids were running around and trading candy while the parents hung out and talked. Jason, being the good guy he is, offered Brian and Carl some whiskey he brought out to enjoy. Just like that, we jumped down the rabbit hole together.
From several ice cubes, to one ice cube, to neat, to cigar and food pairings, to different mash bills – we love talking about it and seeing how our tastes transform. But, on our journey, we felt there was something missing.
In looking at most whiskey reviews, we noticed a small, but crucial, bit of information missing when people give recommendations: their palate. Your palate is different than mine, than the person sitting next to you, than the creepy person behind you, etc. Also, when I'm at a store looking at some new bottles, I want information quickly. These issues are at the heart of the zbourbon mission.
Our Mission
Our goal is simple – introduce our palates to the masses, review as many different bottles of whiskey as possible, and provide our information in a succinct way and try to keep you from buyer's remorse.
Along the way, we hope to entertain you and engage with you however we can. Our community is here for everything from A to Zbourbon! So grab a glencairn, pour a dram from your favorite bottle and join the community!
